The right illumination for your tank

You want a high-quality LED illumination for your tank? Mitras Lightbar gives your fishes, plants and corals the light they need. These reasons will facilitate your decision for Mitras Lightbar.

High-quality, selected High-Power LEDs (white LEDs with at least 122 lumen per watt)
Selected High-Power LEDs from Cree, Osram and SemiLEDs with a lifetime of at least 60.000 hours ensure a high light output with a maximum of energy efficiency. GHL LED lamps belong to the most effective illuminations on the market, especially due to the high-quality LEDs with at least 122 lumen per watt.

Benefit of the GHL expansion options
The Mitras Lightbar can be used as a stand alone-device or with a ProfiLux controller. Benefit of the expansion options: In combination with a ProfiLux controller you can use the light dimming and mix the color spectrum individually. Set up the light spectrum exactly according to your wishes and use special effects and simulations such as sun rise, clouds and thunderstorm.

The optimal illumination for your tank
Mitras Lightbar offers the perfect illumination for every tank: the four types Daylight, Ocean Blue, Actinic and Deep Actinic have been developed for fresh water and the different requirements of saltwater tanks. Through 13 different lightbar lengths, a homogenous illumination for every tank size can be achieved.

Quality products Made in Germany
GHL is known for quality products Made in Germany, which are characterized in particular by the high quality materials and a long lifetime. If you have questions regarding your product, our dedicated support team is always available.

The power supply unit must provide at least the power of the connected lightbar. If several Mitras Lightbars shall be connected via splitter, the power supply unit must provide at least the total power of connected lightbars.

Watt, Lux, Lumen, PAR - how do I know which is the right lamp for me?

The choice of the right lamp depends on many factors. For a salt water tank with many corals at the ground you need much more light than for a fresh water tank with only few and undemanding plants. It is not only important that you achieve as much as possible lumen, the appropriate light spectrum is just as important. A lamp with a high rate of lumen but with a not suited spectrum is of less benefit for the tank as a lamp with less lumen, but with an optimized spectrum. The light performance in lumen is standardized for the human sight. Since a human perceives blue or red light less intensive than green light, the lumen get less at a constant radiant power the more blue or red the light is. That is why the indicated lumen are much higher for Daylight than for Actinic, although the wattage is nearly the same.

As comparison you often use the light output per electric power (lumen/Watt). But this doesn’t tell anything about the photo-synthetic effectivity, here rather the so-called PAR-value is relevant. When you compare with other lamps, you should pay attention to the following points:

  • Our electric power includes also the consumption of the control electronics, not only the consumption of the LEDs.
  • The light performance indicated by us includes also the performance of the LEDs which contribute less to the creation of lumen but which optimize the spectrum. Furthermore we indicate the actually remaining lumen after deducting the losses through the glass and temperature increase.
  • Contrary to the commonly used practice to use cheap series resistors for LED-current limiting, in our lightbars the current of LEDs is precisely controlled by electronics. This reduces the current consumption and waste heat.
  • We believe that we could make the maximum out of LED-technology - the best LEDs, an extremely transparent protector plate, a massive cooling and an electronic control. More is hardly possible. If you find elsewhere better performance data, then you should question this critically.
  • We don’t indicate any ideal theoretic values, but the performance data which can be reached in practice after deduction of all losses.

Our recommendation: Select Mitras Lightbar depending on the volume.

Often a recommendation is made for lumen per liter. In our opinion this makes only sense for Daylight, for lamps with a high blue light percentage (Actinic or Ocean Blue) the lumen indications are rather misleading.

rule of thumb:

low light demand: 0,3 watt per liter

very high light demand: 0,9 watt per liter

Configuration - which components are necessary in addition with Mitras illumination?

The table below show you three different configuration models with the necessary components: undimmed operation with one lightbar, undimmed operation with several lightbars and dimmed operation with one or several lightbars.

Features

The Mitras Lightbar can be operated undimmed (all LEDs at 100%). For this you don't need any controller. Switching on/off can be managed by a simple timer. Another option though is to operate and dim the lightbar by the ProfiLux controller.

  • Optimal light performance and mixture
Smart control technology provides a high light performance. Selected High-Power brand-LEDs from Cree, Osram and SemiLEDs ensures a brilliant light mixture
High color rendering index for natural colors in the tank
Optimal color spectrum adapted to the needs of any tank (daylight, ocean blue, actinic, deep actinic)
  • Homogenous light distribution
13 lightbar lengths enable the perfect illumination of every tank size
Reflected beam of 120° for an homogenous light distribution
  • Expansion and exchange options
Further lightbars can be connected with one power supply via a splitter
    LED-cluster are separately replaceable
  • Connectivity option with ProfiLux controller
In combination with a ProfiLux controller you can use the light dimming and mix your color spectrum individually. In addition you can realize a variety of special effects such as sun rise (with several lamps "East-to-west-simulation" possible), cloud simulation (also "gliding" over several lamps), thunderstorm simulation, moon phases and rainy days
  • High energy efficiency
High energy efficiency and long LED lifetime
50% energy saving compared to conventional illumination

Software

The Mitras Lightbar can be controlled as a stand alone-device or in combination with a ProfiLux controller. When you operate it undimmed, only switching on/off is possible. Connect your Mitras Lightbar with a ProfiLux controller and utilize the manifold special effect options.

With the free PC-software it is possible to adjust and set up the Mitras Lightbar easily via your PC and to use a wide range of adjustments and features. Use the predefined illumination run of the light composer and set it up according to your wishes. All 5 to 7 color channels are separately dimmable. Beside this you can realize features and special effects: sun rise, cloud simulation, thunderstorm simulation, moon phases and rainy days.
